Most tools are passive. A note app waits for you to write. A task list waits for you to check something off. Every AI agent waits for a prompt — and forgets the moment the session ends.

Personal intelligence shouldn’t be passive. Alfred is built first to be an authoritative record of what you know and do. But a record that only stores is half the job — the other half is noticing what matters, organizing what you save without being told to, and surfacing what you need before you go looking for it.

That’s a direction, not a finished state. Every step toward it answers one question: does this earn the right to act on your behalf, or does it just add noise? Proactive only counts if it’s trusted — a system that acts carelessly is worse than one that waits.
